Hatha Yoga in Athens
The Yoga classes offered by Alexandra and Antaratma combine traditional and modern practices, and are suitable for both beginners and advanced students.

Alexandra’s classes are inspired by the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli, and also draw on her training in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and the Satyananda system of Yoga. They focus on establishing a union between body and mind through basic Hatha Yoga asanas, with an intuitive approach that deepens the connection with the body-mind. Antaratma’s classes are rooted in the Satyananda Yoga system and include asana, pranayama, meditation techniques and Yoga Nidra, a method of deep relaxation inspired by the Satyananda Yoga tradition. Together, these classes offer a supportive environment for self-awareness and personal growth, for anyone who wants to explore Yoga.
Yoga Nidra in Athens
Yoga Nidra, or “yogic sleep”, is a deeply relaxing practice that invites us to rest in the space between wakefulness and sleep. Rooted in the ancient teachings of Yoga, this guided meditation leads step by step into a state of conscious relaxation, supporting physical, mental and emotional well-being. During a session, you are guided to release tension, calm the mind and turn inwards. The practice involves moving the awareness through different areas of the body, observing the breath, and following visualisations or imagery. A distinctive part of Yoga Nidra is the “Sankalpa”, an intention or resolution. It is brought to mind during the practice, when the state of deep relaxation helps it take root in the subconscious mind. With regular practice, many people notice less stress, better sleep and more focus, and Yoga Nidra can also support emotional balance and spiritual growth. It is a simple way to rest deeply and get to know yourself.

Antar Mouna Meditation practice at Zen Center Athens
Antar Mouna, or “Inner Silence”, is a meditation technique developed by Swami Satyananda Saraswati, our guru, Yoga master and author, and is a core component of the Satyananda Yoga system. Its essence is to guide practitioners towards inner silence and self-awareness. By observing our thoughts, emotions and sensations as a witness, without judgement or attachment, we come to understand the nature of the mind and its patterns. This process of observation and detachment brings greater clarity, emotional balance and inner peace. With regular practice, Antar Mouna can help reduce stress, improve focus and sharpen awareness of the present moment. As a foundational technique, it is also a stepping stone to more advanced meditation practices, leading towards the realisation of our true nature and the connection between all things.

Nada Yoga Classes in Athens
Nada Yoga works with sound as a path to self-realisation. The word “Nada” means “sound” in Sanskrit, and the practice includes various ways of exploring sound: vocal chanting, singing, listening to music and meditating on sound. Its main aim is to connect with the inner self and the Divine through the vibrational qualities of sound.
In Nada Yoga, sound supports deep meditation and well-being. Participants practise sound meditation: they focus on specific sounds and chant mantras to calm the mind, develop awareness and open to higher states of consciousness.
Nada Yoga is not only about external sounds. During meditation, it also emphasises becoming aware of inner sounds and vibrations, often described as a continuous, high-pitched tone, which connect practitioners to cosmic consciousness and to their true nature. Overall, Nada Yoga is a practice of self-discovery, relaxation and spiritual growth, which can help us meet life’s challenges with more clarity and inner peace. By bringing sound into meditation, we can experience a deeper sense of connection.
